Exciting news on the publishing front:
A New Short Story Collection!
Cue the drum roll! Here it is, my latest collection of short stories: Power Tools. It has been a long road to get here, but Power Tools is now live and awaiting your eager reader eyes. The title story of this collection has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize as well as a Best of the Web award.
There are moments in life when having the right tool makes all the difference.
Power Tools gathers twenty-one of my best short stories into one collection. An elderly woman sets out alone on a journey into a new life. Two soldiers in a bunker share candy and memories. A widower takes on the Supreme Court with a robot. Grief is sung over the cobbled streets of Valletta. Two old heroes question their purpose. These stories tell tales of love lost and found, of the fight for justice, and the glimmering flame of hope that keeps us afloat. Unforgettable characters push back against the crushing weight of the world and shoulder the burdens they carry within. Love, laugh, dance, weep; these are the stories of Power Tools.
Power Tools is available at fine online booksellers worldwide, in both eBook and Paperback editions. For more information on this new collection, or for buying links at your favorite online booksellers, scroll down the page to my Book Table click on the menu above: Power Tools.

About the Author:
Marco Etheridge is a world traveler, a writer of prose, an occasional playwright, and a part-time poet. He lives and writes in Vienna, Austria. His work has been featured in more than one hundred reviews and journals across Canada, Australia, the UK, and the USA. When he isn’t crafting stories, Marco is a contributing editor and for a new ‘Zine called Hotch Potch.
Marco began his writing journey with The Dark Rain Series, a riveting and original tale of ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances. This post-apocalyptic saga opens with the novella Clouds Before Rain and continues in the full-length novel The Best Dark Rain: A Post-Apocalyptic Struggle for Life and Love. Marco’s second novel is Blood Rust Chains, a stand-alone novel set in Portland, Oregon. Breaking the Bundles is the latest novel, an absurdist political thriller set across two continents. Orphaned Lies is Marco’s first collection of short stories, followed by Broken Luggage, a great collection of flash fiction, U6 Stories – Vienna Underground Tales, The Wrong Name, and now Power Tools. And More…
Marco’s fiction takes the reader on an intricate literary journey through different genres. With attention to detail and thoughtful prose, Marco builds immersive worlds crafted to house distinct and diverse characters. Always character and dialogue-driven, Marco’s novels captivate the readers with dark charm and unforeseen plot hooks.
Though born in the USA, Marco considers himself a citizen of the world. Love carried him across the Atlantic Ocean to Vienna, Austria, and love holds him there. The long and winding pathway that has led to writing novels is one of varied experience. Marco has been a soldier, a commercial fisherman, a wanderer, and a jack-of-all-trades. His feet have happily trod the soil of over thirty countries; a wandering path over four continents and the odd sub-continent. The world is his playground and his fellow citizens are his playmates.
Marco’s antidote for everything is to throw some gear in his faithful Deuter backpack and disappear. An avid traveler and a complete street-food junkie, there is nothing he won’t try. Munching wok-roasted spiders in Cambodia? Absolutely! How about a four-course meal in Bangkok’s Chinatown, with each course from a different street stall? He’s there! The Wrong Name
The Wrong Name – Stories from the Darker Edge, stories of the darkness that lies within us, and the occasional glimmer of hope that keeps us afloat in the shadows. Doppelgangers and crones, artificial and human intelligence gone wrong, murder, revenge, tragedies embraced, and fates narrowly avoided. Reluctant heroes tire of the chase and ghosts relive the past. Bodies must be disposed of, corpses arise, and dreams damned. Here is magick, for good or ill. Twenty-one tales of darkness, and the occasional glimmer of hope that keeps us afloat in the shadows. Welcome, Reader, to The Wrong Name.
