When life slips out of control, when fear and anger threaten to take over, how does a person react?  While researching an assignment on genealogy, Quinn Boyd discovers killers in his family tree. The violence of dead ancestors intertwines with his modern history of family violence and addiction. Following an argument with Quinn, an annoying neighbor is found dead. Was the death an accident? Why are the police knocking on Quinn’s door?

There are a strong cast of characters along Quinn’s path, some benevolent and some very much not: beautiful Sonya, the careful police officer Perkins, and the menacing Mo Evans. Will Quinn be pulled in by anger, or will he heed the voices calling him back? Quinn risks losing Sonya’s love, his sobriety, and possibly his freedom. Darkly funny and diverse, the characters and dialogue drive this tale to its conclusion.

“Blood Rust Chains” is set in Portland, Oregon.  The locations are vivid and real, giving the reader a sense of being in and on the streets of the city.

Look for publication of the novel “Blood Rust Chains” in late April or May of this year.  I am currently working on a first draft of a new novel.  When this first draft is complete, I will be taking a break to finalize publication of “Blood Rust Chains.”  I am very excited to see this novel come to fruition.
